Prosthetic instruments
Only a limited number of instruments are sufficient to perform prosthetics
- Hex driver
- Single slot driver
- Square driver
Drivers
Most abutments can be tightened by means of the Dyna hex driver. This hex driver is available in 4 types: a latch type for use in between elements, a short, standard and long type.
Extension abutments can be tightened with a single slot driver.
The latest ball abutments and the direct temporary abutment straight for crowns can be tightened with a square driver. The former types ball abutments have a hexagon connection on top and therefore still utilize the hex drivers.
Each of the Dyna drivers can be used in combination with the Dyna torq wrench by means of rotor bits, so that the abutments, if necessary, can be put on torque (30Ncm for all abutments, but 35Ncm for extension abutments).
Healing and impression abutments without octa are fastened hand tight.
There is a rotor bit 4x4mm square available for all drivers to be able to achieve more grip when screwing in an abutment by hand. For the latch-head instruments a rotor bit ISO1797 adaptor is available.
Torque wrench
The torque wrench is a device for determining the torque applied to Dyna implants or prosthetic abutments, during seating. The wrench is supplied with a torque scale of max. 45Ncm (TW-45-1) and can be delivered together with 2 rotor bits. The rotor bit ISO1797/shank (art.no. C8381) is used for all drills and instruments with latch head connection. The rotor bit 4x4mm square (art.no. C8521) is used for all instruments with a T.W. connection. An arrow, and the words IN/OUT on the ratchet head indicate the rotation direction. See the torque wrench enclosure for further instructions.
- Mechanical damage of latch-head instruments can occur above a torque of 50Ncm. Then use a T.W. instrument/driver in combination with the torque wrench in combination with the rotor bit 4x4mm square
- Do not use Hexagonal driver 5181RL in a hand piece with motor, but only in combination with the rotor bit and torque instrument
- The choice of the torque in particular case should include recommendations given by Dyna as well as the data from the literature and actual clinical situation.
- Read enclosure carefully for intended use, cleaning and sterilisation process.
